What is AI slop?
AI slop is writing that is technically fine and completely forgettable: recycled phrasing, hedged claims, no specifics, no firsthand proof, and an opening that could sit on anyone's page. Readers spot it before they can name it, and they stop reading. An AI slop detector does not try to prove a machine wrote the text. It measures whether a human will want to finish it.

AI slop detector FAQ
What is AI slop?
AI slop is writing that is technically correct but empty: recycled phrasing, hedged claims, no specifics, no firsthand proof, and an opening that could sit on any page on the internet. Readers recognise it before they can name it, and they stop reading.
What does the Slop Cop AI slop detector actually check?
Eight things: whether it reads human, whether it uses concrete specifics, whether there is firsthand proof, whether it carries a consistent voice, whether it speaks plainly, whether the phrasing is fresh, whether the opening earns attention, and whether the reader gets a payoff. Each is scored 0-100 and rolled into one score.
Is the Slop Cop free?
Yes. Running the checks is free. You enter an email once to unlock the full read-out, which is also sent to your inbox so you can keep it.
Is this the same as an AI content detector?
No. Detectors guess whether a machine produced the text, and they are frequently wrong. The Slop Cop judges whether the writing is any good to a human reader and tells you what to change. That question is more useful and more answerable.
Why use a decision model instead of asking ChatGPT?
A chat window returns paragraphs and can give you a different verdict each time you paste the same draft. The Slop Cop runs typed decision questions through a decision model, so the option set is fixed, the confidence is shown, and the same draft returns the same score.
Do you keep my draft?
Your draft is scored and not stored as content, republished, or used to train anything.
